Once again we return to early Britain. Encouraged by their recent victory, the Saxons plan to ambush a British patrol on its way back to a border tower and capture a noble for ransom. Luck was against the Saxons this day, only a single Saxon group enters the table on the first turn, the remainder turning up on their cards on the turn two.
The single group of Saxon hearthguard race around the swamp, if they can get to the middle of the table perhaps the Britons will be held up.
The Saxons get caught by the British elite are are driven from the table as the remainder of the Saxon force turn up.
The Saxons form their own battle line as their missile troops harass the British from their flanks.
It became clear that the only chance for the Saxons was to try and hit the Levy shieldwall, the line moves up whilst the remaining hearthguard attempt to flank the levy. The dice roll badly, its a close thing but the Saxons are forced to withdraw, the British pursue. The victory brings the British an additional group of skirmishers, the Saxons will not be back until September.
